Hey guys! So I’ve finished my exams for the week (my last one is on Monday!😆) and I thought I’d use this time to do my first book tag on this blog! Moving on…a big thank you to Wing-yee (bibliophilicmedstudent) where I found the Rapid Fire Book Tag!
So without further ado…
1. E-book or Physical Book?
Definitely physical books because, well, you can just admire them and all the gorgeousness.😍 But, I do read a fair amount of e-books as well, mainly before I go to sleep because I can put it in night-mode.
2. Paperback or Hardback?
HARDBACK! Although hardbacks are quite expensive so I have more paperbacks. But every time I know I’m going to love the book or the cover is just too pretty, I will definitely buy the hardback copy.
3. Online or In-Store Book Shopping?
I would love to do more in-store book shopping but A. There are hardly any bookstores in my area and B. They are so expensive. So definitely online for me.
4. Trilogies or Series?
Hmmm…this is a tough one as it really depends on the story. Ultimately, I’m going to choose trilogies because most of my favourite books are trilogies. Books like, The Infernal Devices, Slammed, The Bronze Horseman, Sweet Evil, The Dark Elements and a whole lot more that I can’t think of right now… I feel like I should also mention that two of my most favourite series ever are The Mortal Instruments series and The Lux series which I could not imagine as a trilogy as they are just too good.
5. Heroes or Villains?
Heroes. Although I do love a good villain. My friend and I always talk about our love for the badass, sassy Seelie Queen from The Mortal Instruments series.
6. A Book You Want Everyone to Read?
I highly recommend The Bronze Horseman trilogy. More specifically, the first book. I haven’t been this emotionally attached to a book in forever (if ever). Just the characters, the setting, the plot, the absolute tragedy was just so eye-opening and real. This book is so much more than just a love story and I highly recommend it to everyone.
7. Recommend an Underrated Author
You guessed it, Paullina Simons (The Bronze Horseman trilogy), and also she’s not exactly “underrated” but I feel like Jennifer L. Armentrout deserves a lot more spotlight on her amazing books.
8. Last Book You Finished?
The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi
9. Weirdest Thing You’ve Used as a Bookmark?
A (clean) ice cream pop stick.
10. Used Books: Yes or No?
Yes! I don’t have many used books, but the few that I do have, I cherish…mainly because they are some of my favourite books from my childhood that I found in second-hand bookstores!
11. Top Three Favourite Genres?
Fantasy, Romance and Contemporary.
12. Borrow or Buy?
Buy. I used to borrow books at the library a lot but since I’ve gotten more into reading, I like to buy them, especially if they are really good!
13. Character or Plot?
This is a tough question. I think there needs to be an equal balance of both in order to be interested in the book. But if I had to choose, it would be the characters because i need some good personality (get it?) in the books I read!
14. Long or Short Books?
Again, I think this really depends on the book and the story. If I love it, then I’d way prefer it to be long! (or, you know, possibly never end…)
15. Name The first Three Books You Think Of…
- The Problem with Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout
- Angelfall by Susan Ee
- Empire of Storms by SJM (probably because its right in front of me😂)
16. Books That Make You Cry or Laugh?
Laugh. I’ve had my fair share of tragic books (The Bronze Horseman and, like, all of Colleen Hoover’s books to name a few…) so I need a good laugh.
17. Our World or Fictional Worlds?
FICTIONAL WORLDS. No explanation needed.
18. Audiobooks: Yes or No?
I’ve never owned or used any audiobooks..but I would really like to try them!
19. Do You Ever Judge a Book By Its Cover?
Sadly, yes. I have looked at book covers (especially online) and gone past them…BUT, I have read a few books with not-so-great covers and found some hidden gems, so i’m pretty proud of that!
20. Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptions?
Personally, neither. I think the thing with books is that we create this whole world in our minds with specific characters, settings, scenes etc and to see that not be portrayed well in a movie or tv show is, quite frankly, sad and frustrating. If I had to choose, it would be movies. (I’m only basing this on the Twilight films because I love them so much!😂)
21. A Movie Or TV Show You Preferred to its Book?
I have the same reasons from question 20 for this one. And again, the Twilight Saga! (Team Edward all the way!)
22. Series or Standalones?
Hmmm, surprisingly I like a good standalone. I hate cliffhangers with a passion so reading a book that has a clear beginning, middle and end is always great. Especially if its a HEA. I will say though that if a book is super awesome then a series is a must!
Aaaaand that concludes The Rapid Fire Book Tag! Thank you for making it this far and I won’t be tagging anyone so if you want to do this tag, then go ahead! xoxo
