Review: Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco (spoiler-free)

Following the grief and horror of her discovery of Jack the Ripper’s true identity, Audrey Rose Wadsworth has no choice but to flee London and its memories. Together with the arrogant yet charming Thomas Cresswell, she journeys to the dark heart of Romania, home to one of Europe’s best schools of forensic medicine…and to another notorious killer, Vlad the Impaler, whose thirst for blood became legend.

But her life’s dream is soon tainted by blood-soaked discoveries in the halls of the school’s forbidding castle, and Audrey Rose is compelled to investigate the strangely familiar murders. What she finds brings all her terrifying fears to life once again.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

This book was amazing!!! Just when I thought Stalking Jack the Ripper couldn’t be any better, Hunting Prince Dracula comes in and blows me away!

Two words: Thomas Cresswell.

The chemistry and banter between Audrey Rose and Thomas was INCREDIBLE in this book! There were so many hilarious lines between them that I pretty much highlighted half the book!😂 I loved how we got to explore Thomas’s family and past a bit more and there’s this one major detail about him that I was just like…whaaaaaaa?! It just made him that much more interesting. And can I just say again that the CHEMISTRY between Wadsworth and Cresswell was off the charts! Hot damn.

Basically, this book begins one week after the events of Stalking Jack the Ripper. Audrey Rose and Thomas Cresswell are off to Brahn castle in Romania (AKA Dracula’s castle) to attend one of the best schools in forensic medicine – and to another murderer.

The whole setting was amazing. Places like the creepy castle, the secret passages, the dark forest and the wolves were just a few things that made this book all the more mysterious and exciting. I was seriously on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book, especially towards the end. It was so INTENSE. My only complaint is that the bit at the end where the murderers’ true identity is revealed (GASP!), was a little bit short. But other than that, everything in this book was perfect. From the writing, setting, characters, mystery…it was all done so well.

Ultimately, I loved how Hunting Prince Dracula ended *swoon* and I can’t wait to go on yet another adventure with Wadsworth and Cresswell! All in all, I highly recommend this book to everyone!abbie
